Becky Watkins – Associate
Dr Becky Watkins is an HCPC registered clinical psychologist offering personal injury and capacity assessments.
Dr Watkins has worked in clinical psychology since 2002 and qualified from the Bristol Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2006. She has provided a service in both the public and private sector. This has included 5 years working within a multidisciplinary pain management team, developing and delivering chronic pain management services and for six years, setting up and delivering a dermatology psychology service for adults and young people for Gloucestershire Hospitals Trust.
In her private practice Dr Watkins worked therapeutically with people referred from a variety of sources, including those funded as part of their personal injury claim, medical and private referrals. This has included people who are living with a variety of mental health issues, post trauma responses, bereavement, physical illness, relationship difficulties, appearance concerns and more. Her work has drawn on a variety of theoretical and therapeutic models to inform her practice. This has included Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) cognitive behavioural approaches, mindfulness based therapies, and psychodynamic, attachment and systemic thinking.
Dr Watkins has carried out complex psychological assessment, formulation and therapy with a variety of groups including children, adolescents, working age adults, older adults and people with learning difficulties. This has included using standardised neuropsychological and psychological assessment measures as part of a broader assessment and formulation process.
Dr Watkins has seven years of experience of providing reports to the court and has completed the Bond Solon Civil Procedure Rules Training.
